There are generally 4 type of pillows, the first is Bed Pillow, the Second is Orthopedic or Cervical Pillow, third is decorative pillow and the last is extra pillow. Sometime one type of pillow also fall into other type of pillow.

The bed pillow is a pillow that used in bed. There are few size of pillow like this. There are standard, queen, king and body pillow.

Orthopedic pillow is actually a pillow that good for your neck. I think its about against a pain in the neck. There are few types of pillow. Some of travel pillow are these. Lumbar pillow is type of these pillow, this pillow used to support your lower back. The other is Donut pillow, this pillow shaped like donut or u-shape use to support our tail bone or choccyx.

Decorative Pillow
Its pillow use for decorative purpose. The example of these pillow are sofa, accent or floor pillow. This pillow sometime beautiful and have many shapes. There are pillow that have irregular shapes. The purpose of these pillow is for aesthetic purpose.

Extra or miscellaneous Pillow
These type of pillow is not fall to other category, as fireproof pillow and Daimakura and some other types of pillow do not fall to other tree category.
